Daniel Louis Schoon

He obtained his BLuris degree through UNISA in 1973 and completed his articles at Podlaschuck, Liebson & Klagsburn, in 1973-1974. He became a professional assistant at Barry Katz & Partners in 1975, the same year he was admitted as attorney.

In 1976, he established his own legal firm, DL Schoon, and later joined forces with MC van Rensburg to form what is today known as Van Rensburg and Schoon Attorneys.

Smiley has retired from and now serves as Development Consultant on projects when his expertise is most needed.

Throughout his legal career Smiley has mentored countless attorneys, sharing the knowledge he has gained over the course of his career with those eager to learn.
Smiley is also an active part of Marantha Church  and their community service programmes around the East Rand.  

•    He has 5 children and 14 grandchildren and a fifteenth on the way
